During a week long campign 10,962 drivers were sanctioned for various offences related to their vehicle. The most prevelant was not having an up to date ITV. This accounted for 56% of the sanciones issued or 6,137!
The ITV is a roadworthiness test which vehicles have to periodically undergo to make sure they are safe to circulate on Spanish roads.
